Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
John Dewey serves as the Chief Executive Officer for JANUS Research Group, Inc. As CEO John leads JANUS; a mid-sized company, striving to increase their DoD and commercial mission partner's organizational performance through industry leading capabilities, solutions as a service and leading innovation "Developing Tomorrow's Answers Today."
John retired from the U.S. Army after more than 24 years of distinguished service. During his career, he deployed multiple times for Operations DESERT THUNDER and DESERT FOX in Kuwait, Operation STABILISE in East Timor, and as a Battalion Commander to Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF). His final Army assignment was at Fort Gordon, GA as the TRADOC Capability Manager.
John is an Army Signal Corps veteran with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL. John joined the JANUS team after his Army service.
Chief Operations Officer
Rob joined JANUS in July 2015. He brings to JANUS more than 24 years of industry experience leading and managing large, complex technical organizations to provide services, solutions, and products to Department of Defense and commercial customers. Prior to joining JANUS, Rob served as Vice President for a major Defense contractor in Huntsville, Alabama. This operation included over 1,100 employees serving clients around the world working within the Army-facing business area. He has extensive experience in creating innovative, adaptive and growth focused technical teams and in managing complex programs. Rob served as an Army Infantry Officer and held various command and staff positions at Company and Field grade levels in the Army and Army Reserves. He holds a bachelor's degree from Columbus State University and a Master's of Science degree from Colorado School of Mines, with specialization in operations research and systems analysis.
J. Scott Martin
Chief Technology Officer
Scott has been with JANUS since September of 2000. Scott served as the Executive Vice President for Engineering and Innovations Division since its inception. There, he managed technical, engineering and training professionals working contracts specializing in simulation and training efforts primarily within the Department of Defense and other U.S. Government Agencies. Prior to joining JANUS, he worked for the MITRE Corporation where he supported numerous Army and Air Force Research and Development projects. As site leader for MITRE's presence at the U.S. Army Signal Center at Ft Gordon, Georgia, he acted as a technical representative for the Commanding General and Command Staff and worked closely with the Director of Combat Developments in the architectural design of emerging U.S. Army conceptual architectures to include the First Digitized Division and the Interim Brigade Combat Teams. Scott holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering with specialty in Communications Theory from George Washington University and two undergraduate degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Ocean Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Executive Vice President, Logistics and Technical Services
Joining JANUS in 2008, David has led JANUS' LTSD's rapid expansion into new business markets and the formation of numerous new business partnerships. Prior to joining the JANUS team, David served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army National Guard, culminating with his last assignment as the Chief of Operations and Training, and Chief of the Installations, Logistics, and Environmental Training Center for the ARNGs Professional Education Center. David has extensive knowledge of logistics applications that manage the U.S. Army's maintenance and supply chains. Additionally, he was also responsible for the Enterprise Architecture business process blueprint of the 54 states and territories within the Installation and Logistics communities. He has knowledge in SAP and ARIS software suites. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Arkansas State University and a Master's Degree in General Administration from Central Michigan University.
Chief Financial Officer
Jeremy has been with JANUS since 2000 and is a seasoned financial executive with more than 20 years in accounting and financial management. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for upholding strong financial management and accountability while providing timely, accurate, and reliable financial information and enhancing internal control. During his career, Jeremy has held several key accounting positions and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Commerce with a Major in Accounting from the University of Alabama.
Vice President, MS&T
Shawn joined JANUS in 2010 and now serves as the Vice President for Modeling, Simulation & Training (MS&T) Business Unit. He leads and manages a very highly qualified and talented team of program managers, engineers, software developers, computer scientists, cyber security specialists, artists, training developers, and innovators. He previously held the position of Director of the JANUS Program Management Office.
Shawn's team specializes in technical solutions with cutting edge and industry leading training simulations, modeling and simulation, cyber security, and enterprise data management and visualization capabilities.
Prior to joining JANUS, Shawn supported numerous Commercial and armed services full flight simulation programs with a major Defense contractor.
Shawn holds two undergraduate degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Ocean Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Vice President, C4ISR
Joe serves as the Vice President for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Business Unit providing programmatic and operational support for DoD and commercial mission partners. Joe joined JANUS in 2007 to support the TRADOC Capability Manager for Tactical Radios, he was then selected to transition to Aberdeen Proving Grounds to manage the JANUS programs supporting the acquisition community.
Joe has over 20 years of service supporting Warfighters as a Soldier, Officer, and contractor. He has an in-depth understanding of joint warfighter requirements, including broad knowledge of military Service combat platforms and integration of C4ISR capabilities into joint warfighting operations.
During his time in the United States Army, Joe served as a Public Affairs Specialist publishing articles, newspapers and magazines throughout the US Army Pacific (USARPAC). Joe is a US Army Officer Candidate School (OCS) graduate and Signal Corps war veteran. Joe deployed multiple times during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM as the lead Project Manager and Logistics Officer for the installation and management of all strategic and tactical data communications packages distributed throughout the US Central Command (CENTCOM) areas of operations.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications; Journalism from Towson University and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems Management from University of Phoenix.
Chief of Staff
Mike has enjoyed a diversified career in both the military and the private sector. He served more than 20 years in the United States Army with three years in Military Intelligence and 17 years in the Signal Corps. Mike joined JANUS shortly after leaving the Armed Forces and has served as a Combat Developer, Proposal Manager, Pricing Manager, and now as JANUS' Chief of Staff. He holds a Master of Science in Management (Project Management) and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Mike is a lifetime member of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment Association and 82D Airborne Division Association.
Senior Director Business Services
Joe is a senior leader managing the Business Services team including contracting, procurement and pricing. He has been with JANUS since 2005 and has also served as a Senior Software Engineer and as the Chief Operations Officer for the Engineering and Innovation business unit. Prior to joining JANUS, Joe worked for the Stanford Research Institute where he supported multiple Army research and development efforts. Joe is an Army Infantry Officer in the US Army Reserve and has deployed multiple times in support of the global war on terrorism. Joe holds a bachelor's degree from Northwest Missouri State University.
Director of HR
Judith is the Director of Human Resources and key member of the JANUS leadership team. Employed with JANUS since 2004, Judy strives to accomplish positive business results through continuous recruitment of top quality candidates, retention of highly skilled employees, and ensuring the JANUS work environment is conducive for mission success. Since joining the company, Judy has developed one of the most comprehensive employee benefit programs available in the industry. Prior to joining JANUS, Judy spent more than 16 years at Salant Corporation and Perry Ellis International as the Director of Human Resources where she oversaw all HR functions for numerous retail outlet stores, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers.
Director of BD
Gary has been with JANUS since 2001. He began his career with JANUS supporting the Directorate of Combat Development as a Network Security consultant and has gone on to hold various leadership positions within the company where he currently serves as the company's Director of Business Development. Gary brings to JANUS more than 20 years of Military and industry experience leading and managing, complex technical organizations to provide services, solutions, and products to Department of Defense and commercial customers. He has extensive experience in creating innovative, adaptive and growth focused technical teams and in managing complex programs. In his current position, Gary continues to lead a team of professionals focused on finding opportunities for long-term growth from customers, markets, and relationships. Gary also continues to serve in the Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel assigned to PACOM's J3 Anti-Terrorism Critical Infrastructure Protection team. Gary has held various command and staff positions at Company and Field grade levels in the Army and Army Reserves. He holds a bachelor's degree from the United States Military Academy and a Master's of Science degree from the University of Maryland, with specialization in Computer Systems Management.
